Sound Healing Nepal

Long ago, when seekers wished to learn the sacred traditions of healing and meditation, they would travel to Nepal and India from faraway lands. It was well understood that true learning required discipline, time, and a holistic approach. You couldn’t just learn meditation in isolation, you also needed to understand food, the body, the mind, the breath. Everything was interconnected, thus, Yoga (Union)….

If someone came to receive a secret mantra, they would first go through foundational teachings to prepare their body and mind — to truly value what they were being given. This process helped them go deeper, and it protected them on their spiritual path.

When I began teaching, I too wanted students to stay for at least a month or two — so I could guide them through a complete process. Not just techniques, but a living practice — sādhanā — that could support them throughout life. I still follow this approach with my long-term students.

But I also understand that today, most people find it difficult to take even 5 days away from their busy lives. That’s why I began offering parts of that full path as focused, individual courses — so that people can begin with what resonates most deeply with them right now. Whether due to time, finances, or life stage, not everyone is meant to learn everything all at once.

As my father wisely said, “It’s better to offer what someone can truly receive and use in their life now, than overwhelm them with something they are not yet ready to hold.”

Come and experience the most ancient yoga of sound: Nāda Yoga, along with Dhyāna (often misrepresented as “meditation”), supported by mantra and sūtra chanting — for those wishing to go even deeper. For selected individuals, I also offer traditional Kundalinī awakening practices — lifelong disciplines rooted in initiation and personal guidance. You will learn to heal yourself and deepen your journey as a healer.

sound healing course in Nepal

Sound Healing Nepal offers sound healing and Nāda yoga courses in Nepal and around the world. I work primarily with you individually in Nepal but also offer teaching to groups outside Nepal. The courses are steeped deeply in traditional methods, allowing you to gain a clear understanding of core concepts. You will learn about sound, frequency, tones from both Eastern and Western views. You will also learn different methodologies to apply sound therapy for various healing methods.

The techniques taught are being used very effectively by my students, each following their heart choosing traditional, contemporary, or even consecrating new methods as demanded by the times and situations.

The courses are designed based on your nature, interests, and needs. While there is no fixed syllabus, all courses focus primarily on awakening esoteric healing through sounds. We explore both intrinsic and external vibration stimulation originating from nature’s sounds — singing bowls, bells, tingsha, drums, gongs, voice, etc.

Mantra Chanting with Anup Panthi

When I ask students in my sound healing sessions, “What is the oldest sound instrument used by humans?”, most respond with drums or flutes. And yes, the oldest known flute — the Neanderthal flute found in Slovenia — is over 50,000 years old. But we often forget the one instrument we are all born with: our voice.

From birds singing to insects vibrating the air with distinct frequencies, nature has always expressed through sound. Our own voice is not only a means of expression but a direct tool for healing — especially when aligned with awareness.

In this course, we explore voice as sacred practice, through chanting mantras and sūtras with proper pronunciation, rhythm, and understanding. It's not just about mechanical repetition; it's about inner alignment. When mantra is pronounced consciously and its meaning understood, its impact becomes many times more powerful.

One of the tasks entrusted to me by my teacher is to chant Buddhist mantras and sūtras in their original form, as passed down in the Sanskrit tradition. If a chant is not originally in Sanskrit, I respectfully retranslate it — and once permission is received, I chant it anew with intention and clarity.

Though born into a Sanskrit-learning family — first from my grandfather, then my father — it was only after my engineering studies and personal spiritual journey that I realized the profound value of what I had received.

Anup Panthi Meditating Buddha

In Nepali, we often hear our elders say, “ध्यानले पढ्नु” (dhyanle padhnu), which means study mindfully, or “ध्यानले हिँड्नु” (dhyanle hidnu), walk mindfully — especially when crossing slippery slopes or in the dark.

The word ध्यान (dhyan) is used whenever we need to be fully aware, careful, and present in the moment. It’s a simple reminder to pay attention — to be aware, not just physically, but with our whole being.

So simple, right? Maybe that’s why our mind can’t quite grasp how this simple thing can do wonders...

This dhyan, so simple, yet so profound — the Buddhas and the Rishis deeply understood the profound power of this... thingy...

Under proper guidance, genuine effort and consistency

This dhyan ( Simply being aware ) could penetrate where no sound could, no touch or smell could penetrate — beyond our traumas, beyond our interpretations, and far beyond the endless chatter of thoughts.

It could take us to the very core of awareness, the source that shapes our life, meaning, suffering, and even enlightenment.

Sometimes, it even gifts us a clear view — a way to see the true nature of all these experiences and phenomena.

And the most beautiful part? This is available to everyone, no matter what their outer circumstances are.

One of the ways I work — and this might sound unusual — is that I usually offer the foundational courses in person.

In fact, sometimes it's the advanced courses that continue online.

Why? Because if the foundation is shaky, it doesn’t matter how much you decorate it — it won’t be the real thing. Deep practices like meditation need to be rooted in direct experience, proper guidance, and real presence. That’s why I place strong emphasis on building a clear, grounded base before anything else.

This course is not open to everyone.

As a practitioner and lineage holder of some inner tantric practices, I share these teachings primarily with sincere seekers. For Indian and Nepalese practitioners, these practices are only given after understanding their Kuldevī, as conflicts can create more problems than benefits. These practices should only begin after understanding your prior practices and ishta deva.

The whole purpose of these teachings is to guide you towards K**** and support deep inner energy work.

Whether you're seeking a transformative session, a sacred instrument, or a deeper path into sound, mantra and Nāda Yoga, you're welcome....

— share where you are on your journey, and let's find what truly resonates.
